Have you ever walked into a spider web?
Sure you have.
Did it feel like it could have pulled you back?
This afternoon, I had to mow the lawn. Two things caught my attention:
A garter snake that slithered away before I could get a good look - I know it was a garter snake because I have seen them before in the yard. It took me by surprise but I was curious and tried to follow it. Slippery little guy!
The other was the web in the snowball bush by the driveway. I walked right into it while pushing the lawnmower. To be honest, I was more surprised that the spider didn't get on me in the process. I like spiders - as long as they are not on me.
When I took a closer look, I saw the builder of the web, probably cussing me out for messing up all that hard work. It was already making repairs by the time I fetched the camera.
At first, I took some shots in the daylight. But the spider could see me and stopped moving while I was watching. Later on after dark, I took the camera out after finishing up with the watering and the spider was still there. The web all fixed and it was still stringing lines to further bolster the design. The flash is a little flaky on the camera, so out of the four pics here, I actually took about 40.
